Resolution 5659 RESOLUTION NO. 5659
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach has
been informed that there has been introduced in the Senate,
Senate Bill 312, entitled:
"SAN ACT PROVIDING THAT THE REAL A C PEKSCNAL
PROPERTY OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OANED, OP.RATED
OR CONTROLLED BY ANY M OICIPALITY IN PEE STATE
OF FLORIDA, SITUATE, LYING AND BEING IN A
COUNTY OTHER THAN Tii; COUNTY IN unlCh SUCH
MUNICIPALITY IS LOCATED, SHALL BE SUBJECT TO
AD VALOREM TAXES IN SUCH COUNTY. "
and there has been introduced in the House, House Bill 490,
the title of which to this Council is unknown, but the effect
of which is to provide that the property of public utilities,
owned operatedor controlled by any municipality, situate in
a county other than Ghe county of which said municipality is
located, shall not be subject to advalorem taxes in said county;

;.EAS, it is the opinion of this body that the passa- e of
said Senate Bill 312 would be prejudicial to the interests of the
City of Fiami Beach and other municipalities of the State, and.
that said House Bill 490 should be passed,

are hereby urged to o^pose the passafre of Senate Bill 312, and to
assist in and encourage the passage of house Bill 490.

warded by the City Clerk to said Senator and to said members of
the House.
