Resolution 5661 RESOLUTION NO. 5661
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach has learned with deep regret of the death of
Joe W. Whitley who has served so faithfully as Mayor
and City Commissioner of Coral Gables, our sister city,
and who at all times has so unselfishly cooperated in
every progressive movement for the benefit of our own
city,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that, in
the death of Joe W. Whitley, the greater Miami area has
lost a fine citizen and friend; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be
spread upon the minutes of this City Council in gratitude
for the service and friendship of Joe W. Whitley, and
that a copy of this resolution be certified by the City
Clerk and furnished to the members of the bereaved family.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of May, A. D. 1943.
