Resolution 5683 RESOLUTION NO. 5683
WHEREAS, by virtue of the authority granted in
Ordinance No. 686 heretofore passed and adopted, the City of
Miami Beach did, on the 18th day of January, 1943, enter into
a contract with the United States Government by the terms of
which said City was to render water service to property owned and
leased by the oar Department and Liami Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, attached to said contract was a schedule of
premises owned or leased on said 18th day of January, 1943, by said
War Department; and
ohERLAS, said contract contained, among other things, the
following:
"(a) Tne oar Department is leasing and/or buying
various hotels, apartment houses, residences,
garages, warehouses, bakeries, launderies, cafeterias
and other miscellaneous buildings and premises in
the area served by the water distribution system of
the City of Miami Beach, to be used for the occupancy
and use of the '4ar Department . ;rater service to these
premises is to be furnished under this contract.
(b) Exhibit "A" "schedule of Premises" is attached.
(c) Buildings and/or premises are to ,be added to
Exhibit "A" from time to time as the War Department
leases or buys additional buildings and :remises.
Buildings and/or premises are to be deleted from
Exhibit 'A" from time to time as the War Department
cancels leases or sells the buildings and/or premises
shown in .exhibit ".," . Such changes will be accom-
plished by consecutively numbered letter change orders
issued by the Post Engineer, Miami Beach Training Base. "
and
tiihEHEAS, pursuant to the terms of said contract the Govern-
ment does from time to time serve notices upon the City of Miami
Beach of additional connections and disconnections and additions to
and deletions from the list of premises shown on said .inhibit "A" ;
and
WHEREAS, the City 'Council deems it expedient to authorize
H. H. horn, Manager Shop and Water Department of the City of i,iami Beach,
to accept modifications of said contract made pursuant to the terms there-
of, and to accept notifications of said modifications on behalf of said
City,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that H. H. horn, Manager,
Shop and Water Department, be and he is hereby authorized to
accept, on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, modifications of
said contract, made pursuant to the terms thereof, and to accept
for said City, notifications of such modifications .
