Resolution 6045 RESOLUTION NO. 6045
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, by resolution No. 5998, adopted April 17, 1946,
determined and set forth its intention to proceed with cer-
tain work in the nature of paving in a certain area of said
City as set forth in said resolution andreferred to as
"District H-278", and
WHEREAS, a hearing was held, after due notice, to hear
objections to the confirmation of said resolution, and there
being no objections, said City Council, by the passage and
adoption of Resolution No. 6009 on May 1st, 1946, did confirm
said Resolution No. 5998 and did, in said Resolution No. 6009,
authorize an appropriation of :;;95,153.30 to be set up from
current fund surplus, and
WHEREAS, sealed bids, on a unit basis, for saidpaving
work were thereafter duly called for, requested and received,
and
WHEREAS said City Council, after due consideration, deems
it advisable to make certain minor changes in the work to be
done as authorized by the two resolutions aforementioned for
the convenience of the City and for the more expeditious hand-
ling of the work,
NOW, THS: EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that a contract be awarded and
entered into with the Nu-Way Plumbing Company,
the lowest and best bidder for the work advertised as aforesaid,
said contract to cover and include only a portion of the work
so authorized, said portion of said work to be contracted for
as aforesaid being as follows :
Purdy Avenue from Dade Boulevard to 20th Street;
20th Street from Purdy Avenue to North Bay Road;
North Bay Road from 19th Street to 20th Street,
to be paved, and where heretofore paved, to be
re-paved, to a width of Fifty (50) feet with a
bituminous wearing surface on a ten ( 10) inch
rock base.

Together with necessary drainage, sewer inlets
and catch basins, and improved on both sides
with a concrete curb and gutter.
As said Avenues, Road, Streets and Boulevard are
shown on Plats recorded. in 'fat Book 6, page
115, and Plat Book 9, page 146, and Plat Book 9,
page 144, and Plat Book 21, page 30, of the Public
Records of Dade County, Florida.
All of whichwork is to be contracted for and authorized strictly
in accordance with the unit prices set up and establishedby
the said bid hereby and heretofore accepted for said work.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriation set forth in
the aforementioned Resolution No. 6009 be reduced to the sum
of 4491170.27, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the construction of the herein-
after described portion of the improvement referred to and set
forth in Resolution No. 5998 and Resolution No. 6009 be and the
same is hereby deferred until further action by the City Council,
the portion of the improvement so deferred being described as
follows :
Bay Road and West Avenue from Dade Boulevard to 20th Street;
18th Street from Purdy Avenue to West Avenue, to be
paved and where heretofore paved, to be re-paved to a
width of Fifty ( 50) feet, with a bituminous wearing sur-
face on ten ( 10) inch rock base.
Together with necessary drainage, sewer inlets and
cateli basins, and improved on both sides with a concrete
curb and gutter.
As said Avenues, Road, Streets and Boulevard are shown
on Plats recorded in Plat Book 6, page 115, and Plat
Book 9, page 146, and Plat Book 9, page 144, and Plat
Book 21, page 30, of the Public Records of Dade County,
Florida.
