A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MITCHELL
WOLFSON AND ACCEPTING HIS RESIG-
NATION FROM THE OFFICES OF CITY
COUNCILMAN AND MAYOR OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS Mitchell Wolfson has served with distinction
And with honor as City Councilman of Miami Beach, Florida,from
August 16th, 1939, until October 20, 1943, and
WHEREAS he received the highest number of votes cast
for any councilmanic candidate in the last municipal election
on June 1, 1943, and
WHEREAS he rendered outstanding and unselfish services
to the City of Miami Beach as a city official and as a private
citizen, and
WHEREAS his fellow Councilmen, recognizing his leadership
ability, unanimously elected him Mayor on June 2, 1943, and
WHEREAS he has submitted his resignation from the offices
of City Councilman and Mayor of Miami Beach after volunteering
and being commissioned a major in the United States Army, and
WHEREAS his fellow Councilmen wish to express publicly
their appreciation of having been associated with him,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that it commends Mitchell
Wolfson for his honest, fearless and distinguished services
rendered to the City of Miami Beach and it accepts with sincere
regret his resignation from the offices of City Councilman and
Mayor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the good wishes of all citizens
of Miami Beach go with him in his efforts to help bring victory
to the Allied Nations, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread on
the minutes of this meeting and a copy of it be sent to Mitchell
Wolfson as a token of his City' s appreciation of his ability,
popularity and high esteem in which he is held by his fellow
citizens.
