RESOLUTION NO. 5710
WHEREAS, the owners of property located in the City of Miami
Beach and known as the Bay Shore Golf Course have offered to sell
to the City of Miami Beach for the sum of $500,000.00 a certain
portion thereof shown on a blueprint furnished by said owners,
consisting of approximately 63.08 acres, including nine certain
golf holes and a golf club house as set forth on said blueprint;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to the best interests of
the City of Miami Beach to purchase said property but deems the
price too great;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that a committee composed of City
Manager Claude A. Renshaw and Councilmen Powell and Liberman be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to submit an offer to
the owners of said lands to purchase at a price of $350,000.00
all that portion of said lands shown on said blueprint, as a golf
course, together with all improvements on said property, including
the golf club house building and all furniture and fixtures, the
total acreage to consist of not less than 63.08 acres;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the offer be made subject to the
condition that Twenty-third Street, Twenty-eight Street and the
street lying immediately south of the golf club house indicated
on said blueprint shall be cut through to the property which is
the subject of the offer hereby submitted, and shall be restricted
to golf course purposes for twenty years and that the offer herein
authorized be subject to acceptance within sixty (6o) days from
the date hereof.
