Resolution 5742 RESOLUTION NO. 5742 WHEREAS, the Kiami Beach Zoning Board of Adjustment has heretofore filed with the City Council its report and recommen- dations dated May 16th, 1944, in connection with various sug'-ested and requested changes in the Zoning Ordinance of the City of .iami Beach; and WHEREAS, said report contained, among other things, the following: "Changes that seen logical and necessary at this time might well prove to be actual deterents to growth and development under changed conditions after the war. It is recommended, therefore, that no changes be made in the Zoning Ordinance at this time and that further consideration of the ordi- nance be deferred until conditions become more nearly normal and the need for revision can be more accurately appraised. " and WUEREAS, a majority of the City Council, at its regular meeting on June 7th, 1944, still entertained the opinion expressed by said Zoning Board in its letter dated November 24th, 1943, addressed to the property owners of Miami Beach, which opinion was set forth in said letter as follows : "It now seems advisable to proceed with hearings in order to have the ordinance in final form before building activities are resumed after the war" and being still convinced that changes which seem logical and necessary at this time should now be made, rejected the recommen- dation of said Zoning Board of Adjustment to defer further consi- deration of the ordinance until conditions change. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the Miami Beach Zoning Board of Adjustment be and it is hereby requested to reconsider the changes in s, ning classifications for which petitions and appli- cations were filed with said Board in connection with hearings conducted by said Board since December 13th, 1943; and (1) I BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Zoning Board be and it is hereby requested to report to this City Council at its earliest convenience, those changes which to it seem logical and necessary at this time disreMarding the recommendation of said Board here- tofore made, that further consideration of the ordinance be de- ferred. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to furnish to each member of said Zoning Board a certified copy of this resolution. PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of June, A.
