BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to pub-
lish. in Miami Beach Sun and Daily Tropics, a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Miami Beach, :Florida, and in Ft. Lauder-
dale Daily i:errs, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Ft . Lauderdale, tolorida, Notice of the intention to apply for pas-

sage and adoption by the Legislature of Florida of a law authori-
zing the City of Miami Beach, Florida , to acquire, own and operate
the presently privately owned gas works and transmission and dis-
tribution system supplying gas in and around said City, including
certain other municipalities and unincorporated territory within
Dade and Broward Counties; authorizing said City to accept fran-
chises to operate the portions of said works and system located
within such other municipalities, to sell and transfer all or any
part of such respective portions of said works and system and to
thereafter contract for a supply of gas to such respective portions ;
authorizing said City to issue gas revenue certificates for the pur-
pose of acquiring said works andsystem, and thereaiter from time
to time constructing additions, extensions and improvements thereto;
authorizing said City to create a separate department and board to
manage, operate and maintain said works and system on behalf of.
said City; and to validate all proceedings of the City Council
of said City in connection with any of said matters.
