A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING THEIR INTENTION TO CREATE A
GENERAL OBLIGATION (G.O.) BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE IF A
BALLOT QUESTION IS PASSED BY THE CITY'S ELECTORATE IN
NOVEMBER, 2018 AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF G.O. BONDS FOR
INFRASTRUCTURE ENHANCEMENTS RELATED TO PUBLIC SAFETY,
TRAFFIC AND MOBILITY, PARKS, QUALITY OF LIFE, AND RESILIENCY
INFRASTRUCTURE.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission are contemplating the issuance of General
Obligation (G.O.) Bonds to fund significant infrastructure enhancements related to public safety, traffic
and mobility, parks, quality of life, and resiliency infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, prior to the issuance of G.O. Bonds for such purposes, the Mayor and City
Commission will place a ballot question on the November 6, 2018 ballot to obtain public input relative
to the issuance of the proposed G.O. Bonds; and
WHEREAS, if the voters approve the ballot question, the Mayor and City Commission intend
to create a G.O. Bond Oversight Committee, as such committees have previously been created to
oversee the implementation of projects funded by prior G.O. Bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby express
their intention to create a G.O. Bond Oversight Committee if a ballot question is passed by the City's
electorate in November, 2018 authorizing the issuance of G.O. Bonds for infrastructure
enhancements related to public safety, traffic and mobility, parks, quality of life, and resiliency
infrastructure.
