Resolution 5823 RESOLUTION NO. 5823
WHEREAS, Milton A. Friedman has heretofore filed a claim
against the City of Miami Beach for injuries sustained on or about
December 3rd, 1944, at approximately 7:30 o' clock, P. M. , on 24th
Street opposite the entrance to the Wofford Hotel, said injuries
being caused by stepping into a depression in the street or pave-
ment, said Milton A. Friedman claiming damages in the sum of
42,500.00 for said injuries ; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has heretofore made his full report
to the City Council on the facts in the case and has rendered
his opinion that the approximate cause of the injuries was the negli-
gence of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has recommended a compromise settle-
ment of this claim,
NEW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida , that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to settle said claim by the payment , for and on behalf
of said City, of the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty (4750.00) Dollars .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 10th day of May , A. D. 1945.
