SUBJECT: Opening of the City of Miami Bea Affordable Housing Program Waitlist
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to advise you that the City will open its affordable housing waitlist
for studio apartments and one -bedroom units June 25-29, 2018.
The City previously opened its housing waitlist in April 2015 and accepted 1,000 applications. The City leased
its inventory of one-, two- and three-bedroom units to eligible applicants and will continue to contact
households beyond ranking number 428 requesting larger bedroom sizes. The current waitlist reached number
1,000 for studio apartments.
The Office of Housing and Community Services (HCS) is collaborating with the Information Technology
Department (IT) to develop the online housing application and is expected to launch June 25 at 9 am, until
June 29 at 5 pm. HCS will run several tests on the site before it is live to the public. HCS will also advertise the
opening of the list on The Miami Herald and Nuevo Herald, in accordance with the US Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) regulations.
HCS will assist all households interested in the application, including those households requesting special
accommodations. Once all applications are submitted and the application period is closed, IT staff will assist
with the lottery drawing during a public meeting, scheduled for July 9 in the Commission Chambers.

PRE -APPLICATION FOR CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AFFORDABLE HOUSING
WAITING LIST, FOR 0 -BEDROOM & 1 -BEDROOM UNITS
1. The City of Miami Beach will accept online pre -applications from 9:00 am on June 24, 2018
until 5:00 pm on June 29, 2018 for studio apartments (0 -bedroom) and one -bedroom
apartments.
2. The City has two affordable housing properties with studio apartments:
Neptune Apartments, 1632 Meridian Avenue
Madeleine Village, 7861-7871 Crespi Blvd.
3. The City has one affordable housing property with one -bedroom apartments:
London House Apartments, 1975 Washington Avenue
4. Only one pre -application per household will be considered throughout the process. Applicants
will receive a confirmation number of the online submission via email. No duplicate
applications will be accepted.
5. A computer lottery process will randomly select 1,000 applications.
6. Please make sure to type all information correctly.
7. The City encourages requests for reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities to
be made in advance in writing to the City of Miami Beach, 1700 Convention Center Drive
Miami Beach, FL 33139 Attn: Housing and Community Development. Requests must be
received no later than June 17, 2018.
8. If you are added to the waitlist, you will be notified via USPS mail and email. If you do not
respond to our notifications, or if the mail is undeliverable, your name will be removed
from the waitlist. If you have a change to your name, address, phone number or email, you
must request a change in writing.
Total Annual Income may not exceed the MAXIMUM eligible Income Limit per
Household for 2018 as established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD):

The City follows HUD HOME Rent Limit guidelines. The 2018 rents are the following:
