Resolution 5846 RESOLUTION NO. 5846
WHEREAS, Miami Beach' s air raid wardens were given particu-
lar credit by M. Allen Barth, Dade County Defense Council chair-
man, for a job well done before recent termination of a four-
year vigilance;
WHEREAS, Chairman Barth declared that Miami Beach air raid
wardens had a difficult job keeping the all-important waterfront
darkened as the submarines prowled off our coast;
WHEREAS, countless hours were spent by Miami Beach air raid
wardens in prompt, efficient and faithful performance of their
duty to their city, county, state and nation, and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach citizens are grateful for this contri-
bution to the war effort under the leadership of Dr. Maurice
Klein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Miami Beach City
Council that its sincere appreciation be expressed to Miami Beach
air raid wardens for their excellent work in protecting the lives
and property of our citizens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
sent to Dr. Klein, Mr. Barth and E. G. Graham, former chief air
raid warden of Dade County.
PASSED and ADOPTED this lath day of July, A. D. 1945.
