Resolution 5918 RESOLUTION NO. 5918
WHEREAS, Section 6 of Chapter 23414 (No. 899) , Laws of
Florida, Regular Session 1945, provides for the deposit of
monies of the City Pension Fund for Firemen and Policemen in
the City of Miami Beach required for the meeting of current
obligations of saidfund in a depository recognized by law
for the deposit of funds of the State of Florida and upon the
posting of similar security to that required for State deposits,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, that such funds of the City Pension Fund
forFiremen and Policemen in the City of Miami Beach as are
required for the meeting of current obligations of said fund
be deposited from time to time with any regular depository of
the City of Miami Beach; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said fund shall constitute a
Special Fund of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and shall be
designated as 'City Pension Fund for Firemen and Policemen in
the City of Miami Beach; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, until further action by the
Board of Trustees, checks, drafts or orders for the payment of
money drawn upon saidaccount shall be signed by those certain
officers of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, who from time to
time are duly designated and authorized, by resolution of the
City Council of said City, to sign checks, drafts or orders for
payment of all other city monies ; provided, however, that no
check, draft or order for the payment of money shall be so
drawn except after the issuance and delivery to said City
officers of a warrant signed by no less than five members of
the Board of Trustees directing the issuance of such check,
draft or order for the payment of money out of the said account.
Nothing herein contained shall be construed as requiring the
depository to verify in any instance the issuance of such warrant
or the proper execution of same, and said Bank be and it hereby
is authorized and requested to accept, honor and pay without
further inquiry and until written notice of the revocation of
the authority hereby granted is received by said bank, all checks ,

drafts and other orders for the payment or withdrawal of
money when signed by said City Officers of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida.
