Resolution 6365 RESOLUTION NO. 6365 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 5-B-b of Ordinance No. 498 and Article 6, Section 6.01 (b) (2) of Ordinance No. 734, the members of Group 1, as specified in each of said Ordinances are hereby classified and determined as follows: GROUP 1 - POLICEMEN, FIREMEN AND LIFE GUARDS Albury, E. W. James, E. F. Anderson, C. A. Jennings , T . J. Andrews, C. B. Kent, B. M. Berkowitz, Harry Marshall, A. Bird, W. T. Marshall, B. Brennan, J. McCoy, T. Bullock, W. Michaels M. Cahill, R. V. Pickhardt, Chas. Carey, H. M. Pinder, E. Coyne, F. Robert , G. W. Drosdick, E. Short, P. R. Evans, H. W. Simmons, Bruce Faulkner, J. Stearn, J. Gardos, E. Vernon, G. E. Gordon, G. Wade, J. C. Hoveisrud, J. W. Wickman, W. C. Imperato, N. Wiese, E. S. Ingram, P. SECTION 2. That, whereas, the term of G. W. Roberts, a Trustee of each of the City of Miami Beach Employees Retirement Systems , as provided by Ordinance No. 498 and by Ordinance No. 734, respectively, and representing employees in Group 1, expires on August 23, 1947; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that a primary and an Election is hereby called for the purpose of electing a Trustee from Group 1, to succeed G. W. Roberts, to serve for a term of three years, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified, said Primary to be held between the hours of 9:00 to beAheld betweennOthe hours ofe9:00P. M. on Tusday�A. M. andAugust g5:004P.M .donaid election Tuesday August 26 , 1947. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to notify the members of Group 1, of said primary and election, by posting a notice stating the time, place and purpose of said primary and election, in a conspicuous place in each department of the City wherein members of Group 1 are employed. SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding and conducting said primary and election, the following members are hereby appointed to serve as Clerk and Inspector: Clerk: J. W. Hoveisrud Inspector: J. Stearn SECTION 5. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby appointed as Super- visor of said Primary and Election, and is hereby further instructed to provide ballots and all necessary paraphernalia to the Inspector and Clerk hereinabove appointed, to enable them to properly hold and conduct said Primary and Election; and SECTION 6. That the two members receiving the highest number of votes cast at the Primary on August 19, 1947 shall be the only candidates for Trustee at the Election on August 26 , 1947, provided, however, that should any member receive a majority of the votes cast at the Primary, he will be thereby declared elected as a Trustee and the Election as herein planned be omitted. SECTION 7. That immediately after the polls are closed in the Primary and in the Election herein called, the Inspector and Clerk shall proceed to open the ballot box and counthe ballots cast, tabulating the result, and upon completion of said count they shall promptly certify the result of said Primary or Election, as the case may be, to the City Clerk in duplicate on forms to be supplied them by the said City Clerk; and SECTION 8. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to present to the City Council, at their first meeting follow- ing the holding of said Election, the certificate of said Inspector and Clerk, as to the result of said Election, whereupon this Body shall declare the Trustee elected as indicated in said certificate.
