Resolution 6320 RESOLUTION NO. 6320 A RESOLUTION OF LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE HONORABLE JOHN H. LEVI WHEREAS, our good friend "John" has, of his own volition and because of his failing health, found it expedient to withdraw this year from the race for a seat on the City Council for another term; and WHEREAS, the City has been most fortunate in having the con- tinuous services of this conscientious and capable man on this Body since October 28th, 1918, serving for the major portion of this time as its President and for six years as our Mayor; and WHEREAS, throughout this entire service he has at all times put the welfare of our average citizen to the forefront and has worked untiringly in the City' s interest, often to the detriment of his own health and personal interests; and WHEREAS, John' s natural wit, coupled with his rare business judgment, born of years of actual engineering, construction and sales experience, has undoubtedly resulted in savings to the City of hundreds of thousands of dollars; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby acknowledge that through the retirement of our honorable colleague, John H. Levi, this Body has lost the companionship and counsel of one of our most valued citizens, and it is our opinion that the City of Miami Beach will find it extremely difficult to replace this man who has so wisely and faithfully served them these many years; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a testimonial of the honor and esteem in which he is held, not only by this Body but by our citizens at large, a copy of this resolution be suitably prepared for presentation to him, as a lasting tribute and reminder of our love and appreciation for these years of outstanding service which he has rendered to his City.
