Dear Mrs. Pancoast ,
Perhaps by now Arva Moore Parks and Lester have mentioned to
you that I am doing a book on the history of Miami Beach. By
way of introduction, I was with The Miami News for 39 years and
editor the last 12 years of its life. Currently, I am a
national columnist for Cox Newspapers and a Miami history
columnist for The Miami Herald. I 'm also the author of the
history book "Miami : The Way We Were. "
No history of Miami Beach can be considered without serious
attention to the Pancoast family; thus this letter.
I would like an opportunity to sit down and chat with you --
hopefully tape recording the conversation to insure its
accuracy -- about your recollections of early Miami Beach and
its subsequent growth.
I will call in several days to try to set up such an interview.
