SUBJECT: Motions from the Committee on the Homeless
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to transmit the following motions made by the
Committee on the Homeless at its June 12, 2018 meeting.
Motion #1
The Committee urges the Mayor and Commission to facilitate the relocation of homeless
persons with criminal court cases by receiving a letter from the judge of record agreeing to allow
a homeless person with pending court costs to accept relocation services from the City.
Motion #2
The Committee urges the Mayor and Commission to increase the City's budget for relocation
services to the homeless to $50,000 per year.
Motion #3
The Committee urges the Mayor and Commission to provide homeless clients visiting the
Homeless Walk -In Center with water and saltine crackers.
All three motions were passed unanimously by the Committee.
