Resolution 6418 RESOLUTION NO. 6418
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Dade
County, Florida, has expressed, by Resolution No. 2645, the
urgent need for local and area cooperation in planning and es-
tablishing programs, supported by a Federal program, to relieve
southeastern Florida from the devastating effects of the recent
floods, and to prevent recurrences of such in the future, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, is in full accord with such expressed needs and require-
ments of cooperative planning andprograms for the common benefit
and welfare of the community area, and
WHEREAS, an Area Committee has been formed for the pur-
pose of developing plans and seeking Federal aid,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City of Miami Beach
will cooperate with the Area Committee in seeking Federal aid,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Miami Beach will
cooperate with the Area Committee, other local authorities, and
the Federal Government to achieve a solution of this common prob-
lem.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be forwarded by the City Clerk to our United States
Senators and . epresentative, - to the Governor of the State of
Florida, to the Area Committee, and to other interested. authori-
ties.
