WHITEWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution passed and adopted on the
8th day of January 19'+8, ordered ,,'hiteway Improvement ;WW-34, District
WET-34 and has caused to be prepared and filed with the City Clerk plans
and specifications of such improvement and an estimate of the cost there-
of, including an estimate of the cost of the incidental expenses of said
improvement, and
WHEREAS, due notice by publication as required by the City Charter
has been made that the City Council would on the 21st day of January
1948, at the City Hall in said City of Miami Beach, at 10:00 o' clock
A. M. , receive and hear objections of all persons interested, to the con-
firmation of said Resolution ordering said improvement, and no objections
having been presented at the time and place aforesaid,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, that the said Resolution of said City Council
ordering said Whiteway Improvement WW-34, District WW-34 be and the same
is hereby confirmed; that the City Council does hereby declare its in-
tention to have the work necessary to the accomplishment of said Improve-
ment done by the City forces without contract; that the City Council
does hereby declare its intention to issue bonds of the said City to the
amount required for such Improvement, to levy a special annual tax for
the payment of the principal and interest of said bonds, reducing the
amount of the special annual tax levy therefor by the amounts collected
from special assessments levied against properties abutting the highway
where said Improvement shall be made and by any other amount then con-
tained in the local Improvement Bond Fund , and to levy special assessments
against the properties abutting the highway to be improved in accordance
with the above mentioned resolutions for the cost thereof, not including
intersections of highways the cost of which shall be apportioned to the
City of Miami Beach; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council declares its intention
to advance the cost of said Improvement from the proceeds of the sale of
its bonds, to collect said special assessments and place the proceeds
thereof, together with the amount collected from such special tax, in its
local Improvement Bond Fund to pay the interest and principal of its
bonds, paying said principal and interest, so far as possible, from col-
lections of said special assessments and paying any balance from the pro-
ceeds of such special tax; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $89,155.00 is hereby appro-
priated for the cost of said Improvement from the proceeds of the sale of
said bonds as and when the same shall be accomplished and the sum of
$891. 55 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund for preliminary ex-
penses incidental to the carrying out of this Resolution.
