SUBJECT: Motion by the LGBTQ Advisory Comqittee
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform the Mayor and the Commission of a
motion made by the LGBTQ Advisory Committee at their meeting on June 12, 2018.
BACKGROUND: The LGBTQ Advisory Committee is recommending an LGBTQ art installation to
celebrate diversity in the community. There is currently an item on both the
Neighborhood/Community Affairs Committee and Finance and Citywide Projects Committee
agendas that is sponsored by Commissioner Micky Steinberg. The Committee would like the project
to be supported and has made the below motion in regard to the location they prefer.
MOTION: The consensus of the Committee is to have the LGBTQ art installation's presence on
Lincoln Road with the secondary choice of location being the future Convention Center Park.
