Summer is here which means it's time to get your play on! This July the City of Miami Beach Parks
and Recreation Department is celebrating Park and Recreation month, an initiative of the National
Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and all the ways parks and recreation has the power to
transform our daily lives. Please join us as we #DiscoverJuly with our discovery theme "Get Wild
with Parks and Recreation".
Event: "Splish Splash" Senior Water Aerobics
Date: Friday, July 6, 2018
Time: 8:00 a.m. — 9:00 a.m.
Location: Flamingo Park Pool (12th Street and Michigan Avenue)
Cost: Free
Seniors 55+ are welcome to come out for a morning of fun fitness. Themed giveaways, snacks
and water aerobics fun can be expected!
Event: "Dog -Gone" Wild!
Date: Saturday, July 7, 2018
Time: 10:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Location: Washington Dog Park (201 2"d Street)
Cost: Free
Come show off your dog's incredible talents! Costume and best trick contest will be offered for
both you and your pup. Music, photo booth, giveaways, splash pad and doggie pool will be
available for all to enjoy.
Event: 75th Annual Playground Revue
Date / Time: Thursday, July 19, 2018 (for children in grades 4-12) 7:00 p.m. — 8:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 26, 2018 (for children in grades K-3) 6:30 p.m. — 8:30 p.m.
Location: The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater (1700 Washington
Avenue)

The Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join us at the 75th Annual Playground
Revue "Miami Beach Goes to the Movies". Marvel in the performances of the many talented
children who attend our 2018 summer day camps and watch them dance and sign to musical
genres which vary from Pop to Disco.

Show off your amazing dance moves! Join Zumba instructor Fernando from the City's Zumba
program for a fun Zumbathon at the North Shore Band Shell. Dress in your best safari themed
attire and dance along to some of today's greatest hits!

Parents and children under 4 are invited to join us for a morning of summer pool fun with music,
games, refreshments and more!
Event: Family Night — Get Wild with Parks and Rec!
Date: Tuesday, July 31, 2018
Time: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Location: Flamingo Park Pool (12th Street and Michigan Avenue), North Shore Park
and Youth Center (501 72nd Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700
Sheridan Avenue), Muss Park (4300 Chase Avenue) and Normandy Isle
Park (7030 Trouville Esplanade)
Cost: Free
Families will enjoy relay races, games, snacks, fitness pop -ups, arts and crafts and more! Safari
themed giveaways and entertainment will be offered. Don't miss a chance to bring out your
family and friends for a night of fun.
The Parks and Recreation Department will also offer Miami Beach residents free access to the
fitness centers at the Scott Rakow and North Shore Youth Centers for the whole month of July
(after 6:00 p.m. and on the weekends) to help promote overall health and wellness. City
employees, we did not forget about you...we will be surprising several City departments with
"Pop -Up Recreation" during the workday where our team of fun professionals will visit your
worksites and get you laughing and moving with interactive games and activates.
