Resolution 6793 T - RESOLUTION NO. 6793 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, is considering amending and changing certain of the regulations and restrictions established and contained in Ordinance No. 289, commonly known as the "Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami Beach, Florida" as hereinafter set forth, to-wit: To amend Section 9 of said ordinance to read as follows: "SECTION 9: USE REGULATIONS. "BC" Business District In the "BC" Business District no building or land shall be used and no building shall be hereafter erected, constructed, reconstructed, or structurally altered which is designed, arranged or intended to be used or occupied for any purpose, unless otherwise provided for in this ordinance, excepting for one or more of the following uses: 1. Any use permitted in the "BB" Business District. 2. Garages for mechanical service. 4. Tinsmiths, roofers or plasterers. 5. Laundries: including self-service laundries. 6. Dry cleaning plants and dyeing establishments. 7. Dance Halls. 8. Billiard parlors . 10. Fainting and decorating shops. 11. Cabinet making, carpentry. 12. Wholesale salesrooms and storage rooms. 13 . Amusement enterprises which shall include bowling alleys, boxball alleys, skee-ball alleys, shooting galleries, games and devices such as ball throwing at figures, ball rolling, game racks, doll racks, knife racks, hoop throwing and similar amusements, and which also shall include any place of business, the predominant purpose of which is to furnish amusement in return for anything of value and any place of business in which there are located more than five (5) games and/or devices of skill or amusement regardless of the nature of the predomi- nant business. 14. Cigar and cigarette making. 15. Artificial flower manufacture. 16. Leather goods manufacture, excluding tanning. 17. Metal working shops . 18. Bottling beverages . 19. Bakeries . 20. Barbecue stands. 21. Contractors plant and storage yards providing the area used is enclosed by a building or by a masonry wall not less than six (6) feet in height. 23. Pawn shops. 24. Auction sales shall be permitted, only upon approval and permit of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach. or other similar enterprises or businesses, which are not more obnoxious or detrimental to the welfare of the particular community than the enterprises or businesses herein enumerated. D. 1949, at 10:00 o'clock A.M. , in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, Miami Beach, Florida, for the consideration of said amendment . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to give at least fifteen days ' notice of the time, place and object of said hearing by publishing notice thereof in . the Miami Beach Florida Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in said City of Miami Beach, in conformity with Section 21 of Ordi- nance No. 289 of said City.
