Resolution 6930 RESOLUTION NO. 6930 WHEREAS, the candidates for City Council at the coming election have, as is customary, placed throughout the City, signs and placards in furtherance of their candidacy, and WHEREAS, during a pre-election campaign such a display is excusable and, in most instances, is not considered by our citi- zens to be inappropriate or offensive, and WHEREAS, experience has taught us that after election day has past the candidates and their supporters neglect to remove the signs and placards from view, not realizing, it is presumed, that what is permissible during a campaign becomes offensive when the election is over. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that all of the candidates for City Council at the City election to be held on June 7, 1949, be and they are hereby requested to remove, immediately after said election, all of the signs, placards and other advertising matter that may be on display during the campaign. PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of June, A.
