Resolution 6931 RESOLUTION NO. 6931
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has heretofore
passed and adopted Ordinance No. 882 of said amity, which, in
effect, bans from the City of Miami Beach the Ku Klux Klan or
any other similar mask or hood-wearing organization, and
WHEREAS, it now appears that the passage of a bill
similar, in its terms, to the City of Miami Beach ordinance, and
introduced in the State Legislature, will not be acted upon, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, is of the opinion that many of the cities of the State
of Florida, in the absence of a general law, will desire to
pass and adopt an ordinance similar to Ordinance No. 882 of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Clerk be and he
is hereby directed to mail to the City Clerk of each of the
municipalities in the State of Florida, a certified copy of
Ordinance No. 882 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of June A. D. 1949.
