COMMENDING OUR COLLEAGUE
MARCIE LIBERMAN
WHEREAS, our good friend, Marcie Liberman, has served with
distinction as Mayor of our City, from June 1947 until June 1949,
being a past master in the art of promoting good will and friend-
ship amongst our visitors and citizens, both local and international,
never hesitating in response to the myriad of calls upon his time
both of a business and social nature, thus making countless friends
for our City and giving us much timely publicity which could not
have been purchased with money; and
WHEREAS, many and perplexing problems have come up for solu-
tion during his incumbency and with his banking experience and
rare business Judgment, his wise counsel and thoughtful advice have
proved invaluable to this Body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that as our colleague is about to
retire as Mayor but continuing to serve as one of our members for
another two years, we hereby pay special tribute to Marcie Liberman
for the capable manner in which he has served as Mayor and Chair-
man of this Body, and for his very worthwhile contribution to our
deliberations and we look forward with pleasure to our further
association with him; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be instructed to
record this resolution in the usual manner and to prepare a suitably
engrossed original for presentation to him.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of June, A. D. 1949.
