Resolution 6935 RESOLUTION NO. 6935 COMMENDING MR. LOUIS F. SNEDIGAR WHEREAS, our friend and colleague, Louis F. Snedigar, has recently been honored by the citizens of Dade County when they elected him a member of the County Commission, by reason of which he is voluntarily retiring from this Body, and WHEREAS, throughout the past quarter century Mr. Snedigar has devoted almost thirteen of the best years of his life to the service of his City, having been elected four times by our citizens as Mayor, two of which terms were from October 1922 until December 1926; one term from December 1928 until December 1930; and another from December 1934 until June 1937; and having again been returned by our citizens to public service as a member of this Council, serving two terms from June 1945 until June 1949, and WHEREAS, owing to our rapid and phenomenal growth he has throughout this long period, been required to spend a vast amount of his time and energy on City administration, all of which he has given willingly and unselfishly, being faithful in attendance at Council sessions and in the performance of his many and varied assignments for the upbuilding of his community, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby express to our friend "Red" Snedigar as he has been affectionately called down through the years, our appreciation, also that of our citizenry, of the invaluable and unselfish service he has rendered over so long a period for and in behalf of his fellow man, and we further express herewith our sincere and deep regret at the termination of our very pleasant association, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we wish him every success in his continued public service on the Dade County Commission, and we know that we shall continue to have the benefit of his deep interest and wise counsel in his present capacity.
