Resolution 7091 RESOLUTION NO. 7091 WHEREAS, on the 7th day of December, A. D. 1949, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, passed and adopted Resolution No. 7068 wherein the proper United States Postal Authorities were requested to take immediate steps to move the Normandy Branch of the United States Post Office at Miami Beach, Florida, from its location at 730 71st Street, for the urgent reasons of public safety, health and welfare therein in detail set forth, and WHEREAS, the City Council has since been advised that the said location of the Branch Post Office had been previously investigated by a post office inspector, and WHEREAS, the City Council was not advised or notified of such investigation nor has had any opportunity to assist in such investigation and to present available facts and other in- formation showing the present location to be extremely hazardous, inconvenient and improper, and contrary to the public safety and welfare, and to the best interest of the City of Miami Beach, as well as to the United States Post Office, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the proper postal and other federal authorities be again advised of the inadequacy of the pre- sent location of the Normandy Branch of the United States Post Office in Miami Beach, Florida. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council strongly urges and requests that a representative of the United States Post Office meet with the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Flo- rida, to discuss the said location in the extreme interest of the public safety and the adequacy of the postal service in this City. -1- OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY - CITY HALL - MIAMI BEACH 39, FLORIDA BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution, together with additional copies of Resolution No, 7068, be for- warded to the Postmaster General of the United States, to the Postmaster for the United States Post Office in Miami, Florida, to each of our United States Senators and to the United States Congressman for this District.
