Gonzalez \ .,~.,.....-' City Manager NEW CITY OF MIAMI BEACH DOMAIN NAME Date: January 30, 2003 The purpose of this LTC is to provide the Mayor and Commission with an update regarding the City of Miami Beach's new domain name for our website and e-mails. Since 2001, the Information Technology Department has worked closely with the U.S. General Services Administration to have the new domain name for the City approved. Effective Monday, February 3, 2003, the new domain name for the City of Miami Beach will be: miamibeachfl.gov The first part of you e-mail address will remain the same. The change occurs after the @ sign with the new domain name. The new e-mail addresses for each of you will be: mayordermer~,miamibeachfl..qov matti~miamibeachfl..qov simo n~,miamibeachfl..qov luis~,miamibeachfl..qov saul~miamibeachfl.,qov iose~miamibeachfl.,qov richard~miamibeachfl..qov The Information Technology Department will continue to support the receipt and acknowledgement of messages addressed to City personnel using the old e-mail extension (@ci.miami-beach.fl.us) until the end of June, 2003. This will allow time for updating business cards, letterheads, and informing clients, contacts, vendors, and others with whom personnel communicate via City e-mail. This change will also affect the City of Miami Beach's home web site. The new URL or web site address will now be: www.miamibeachfl..qov.
