Resolution 7128 RESOLUTION NO. 7128 WHEREAS, Irving Caesar, one of our Nation' s leading composers and lyrists, and a regular winter guest of Miami Beach, of which he proudly boasts throughout the country, has dedicated his latest song, "It ' s Written In The Sands", to Miami Beach, in honor of our City' s Thirty-fifth Anniversary Celebration, and WHEREAS, in addition to his hundreds of popular song hits, Irving Caesar has applied his great talents to composing the "Songs of Friendship" , and WHEREAS, the "Songs of Friendship" are being widely utilized in the schools of our City, and in numerous communities of our State and Nation, to build democracy, good citizenship, friend- ship, and harmonious understanding, in our children, and WHEREAS, because of their educational value, the "Songs of Friendship" are a major contribution towards achieving in practice, the ideals of peace, United Nations, and group under- standing, to which we are dedicated, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Miami Beach, in regular session assembled, does hereby officially and publicly thank and commend Irving Caesar for his splendid recognition of Miami Beach, in having composed his latest song in honor of our City, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby commend Irving Caesar for his noteworthy contribution to education for democracy through his outstanding "Songs of Friend- ship".
