A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION, APPROVING
FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000 FOR ROOF REPAIRS AT THE
HISTORIC CITY HALL BUILDING, LOCATED AT 1130 WASHINGTON
AVENUE, AS PART OF THE FY17/18 BUDGET, WITH THE FUNDING TO BE
APPROPRIATED THROUGH A BUDGET AMENDMENT.
WHEREAS, the Historic City Hall building, located at 1130 Washington Avenue is in
need of roof repairs and is compromised by water damage; and
WHEREAS, the funds for such repairs were initially identified for FY 2018/2019; and
WHEREAS, the cost associated for conducting the necessary roof repairs for Historic
City Hall is $150,000; and
WHEREAS, on June 6, 2018, the Mayor and City Commission discussed the roof
deficiencies identified at the Historic City Hall building, and in view of the need to avoid delays
and accomplish the repairs as soon as possible, the Mayor and City Commission approved
funding in the amount of $150,000 for roof repairs for the Historic City Hall, with the funding to
be appropriated as part of the FY2017/18 budget, through a budget amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, hereby approve funding in the
amount of $150,000 for roof repairs at the Historic City Hall building located at 1130 Washington
avenue, as part of the FY17/18 budget, with the funding to be appropriated through a budget
amendment.
