All contributions to the organization have been voluntary and consequently professional marketing and promotional initiatives had been sporadic. On March 14,2001, the Mayor and City Commission authorized LRMI to utilize concession revenue generated from Lincoln Road Special Events for the purpose of marketing Lincoln Road, and appropriated $49,000 for that effort. Among the items that the previous appropriation was used for were: 1. Visioning Session 2. A banner on the 1ih Street Garage 3. Design of a Lincoln Road Logo 4. Production of 140,000 Lincoln Road Brochures 5. Distribution of the Brochures 6. Advertising in the New Times and on the Electrowave 7. The City will then process eligible expenses. Ineligible expenses will be the responsibility of LRMI. At the February 20,2003 meeting of the Finance Committee, the committee recommended approval of the appropriation of $37,874.75 to LRMI. The Administration also recommends that the Mayor and City Commission authorize the Administration to provide concession revenue to LRMI on a quarterly basis, as concession revenue is collected from Lincoln Road special events. CONCLUSION: The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission appropriate $37,874.75 to Lincoln Road Marketing, Inc. for the purpose of marketing Lincoln Road as a destination.
