Resolution 7264 RESOLUTION 0. 7264
WHEREAS, Arthur G. Allen has heretofore entered into
an agreement under date of July 31st, 1970, with Fred N. Meyer
and Marie V. Meyer, his wife, by the terms of which Arthur G.
Allen agrees to purchase, and Fred W. Meyer and wife agree to
sell, for the sum of $43,000.00 (less the sum of X2,000.00 here-
tofore paid by said Arthur G. Allen) , those certain parcels of
land situate, lying and being in Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida,
to-wit:
Lots 5 and 6 in Block 2 of NORMANDY BEACH SOUTH,
according to the Plat thereof, recorded in Plat
Book 21, at page 54, of the Public Records of
Dade County, Florida less the east thirty (30)
feet thereof (said 30 feet being measured parallel
with the north line of said Lot 5 and south line
of said Lot 6)
and
WHEREAS, said Arthur G. Allen has offered to assign all of
his right, title and interest in and to the said agreement to the
City of Miami Beach for the sum of 3wo Thousand ( 2,000.00) Dollars,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to he to the best interest
of the City to acluire said lands for street widening purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the terms of the
agreement between Arthur G. Allen and Fred W. Meyer and wife here-
tofore referred to,
NO , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the said offer of Arthur G. Allen
be and the same is hereby accepted and the City Manager be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to pay to said Arthur G. Allen
the sum of $2,000.00 out of funds available for such purpose.
BE IT FURTHER? RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to close the transaction with the
said Fred W. Meyer and wife in accordance with the terms of said
agreement assigned to the City as aforesaid, and the officers of
the City authorized to make disbursements be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to disburse the monies necessary to con-
summate the transaction contemplated by said agreement, out of
funds available for such purpose.
