EDISON FARROW Throws Tuesday's Hottest Parties

For more than a year, Edison Farrow has been packing people in to his traveling gay Tuesday
parties, which take over the town's best hotels and restaurants-from the Astor andie Delano
to Pearl and Tambo-filling them with a mix of dapper artists and professionals. The martini
club theme began in January 2001 when Farrow and 18 friends decided to meet at the Winter
Haven for weekly drinks and chat. The next Tuesday. he emailed them again: each had told a
few other people. swelling the party to 35. After a month, there were 100 regulars and now
Farrow's list, comprising Miami's A-gay who's who has shot to a spectacular 1,700 names, all
of whom receive weelky emails revealing the next location of the SoBe Social Club. The
maintenance and planning of his event has become a full-time job for Farrow, who after years
of pursuing an acting and singing career (vintage South Beachers may remember his wild
cover of the disco morsel "Got to Have Lovin"' a few years back), is amused by his success:
"Some people try so hard to promote parties, but the smaller I tried to keep this, the bigger it
became."

Celebrating one year in Miami Beach: The Traveling Tuesdays Martini Club - a meeting of gay
professionals that takes place every week at a different local hot spot.
"It's a night when gay men and their friends can meet and talk in a quiet, upscale
environment." said Edison Farrow, the group's founder.
During the past year, the Martini Club has gathered at 45 South South Beach sites including
The Delano Hotel, China Grill and Nikki Beach.
There is no cover charge to attend the Tuesday night soirees, which feature a "Martini of the
Week" sponsored by different liquor companies.
"It started out as a simple weekly get-together for 14 of my friends," said Farrow. 38, an actor-

turned-bartender who moved to Miami Beach seven years ago from New York.
By the second week, he said 35 people attended. It became a business after a month.
"I realized I was a promoter with a party," Farrow said. "It wasn't my intent."
Farrow says he now has 1,649 people on his email list. Weekly attendance is between 200 to
350 - according to Farrow - the club's website, www.sobesocialclub.com gets 12.000 hits a
month.
The group recently celebrated its one year anniversary at the Gaucho Room of Loew's Miami
Beach - the site voted "favorite location of the year" by Martini Club Members.

Edison Farrow put together this wonderful, fabulous idea (of which he has many!) last year of
bringing out a more sophisticated, upscale gay professional crowd for regular socializing and
conversation. He called it the Traveling Tuesdays Martini Club which changed locations every
Tuesday evening. And it was all done through the internet — no advertising, no publicity, just
the Edison Farrow network of gay professional contacts. And what a success story it's been
since that time. After one year his Martini Club has become one of the most successful and
most popular nights ever established on the Beach. So last week Edison decided to let
everyone know about the first anniversary and celebrated Tuesday night at the Loews. And
boy did they need the space as more than 600 gay professionals and their friends decided to
drop by! Congratulations to Edison and all that he has done — single-handedly —to add even
more quality to our gay life on this ever precious. multi-billion dollar sandbar! Edison's a
winner — a really great guy with loads of energy and creativity. Any Tuesday evening as he
leads the pack during the Traveling Tuesdays Martini Club.
