RESOLUTION NO. 7285
WHEREAS the week of October first to October seventh
is NATIONAL EMPLOY THE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED WEEK, and
WHEREAS, we realize that the physically handicapped
can often serve in many positions of employment with greater
competence and diligence than their more fortunate brothers
and sisters, and
WHEREAS, we owe a great deal to the courageous men and
women who sacrificed their faculties in the military service
of this nation,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Personnel
Department of the City of Miami Beach be and it is hereby,
instructed to extend every effort to place our physically
handicapped citizens in positions of employment in our
various city departments, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that business firms and employers
in this city make every effort to employ the physically handi-
capped in their respective business establishments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution
be delivered to the Personnel Department of the City of
Miami Beach and to all of the local newspapers .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 4th day of October, A. D. 1950.
