Resolution 7432 RESOLUTION NO. 7+32 WHEREAS, the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company has made application, through the Florida Railroad and Public Utilities Commission, for an increase in rates that would yield 7.25 per cent on the alleged value of their investment, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be to the best interest of he City to join with Dade County, the other political subdivisions of Dade County, and the Greater Miami Traffic Asso- ciation in opposing the proposed increase in said rates, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach has been informed that the financing of the joint opposition will re- quire an appropriation of ten (100) cents per capita of its population at this time by each political subdivision of Dade County which funds will be used for organizational purposes and aggressive action in opposition to the proposed rate increase, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City of Miami Beach join with the other opponents to he above described rate increase, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $4, 550.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated from Current Fund Surplus to be contributed to the financing of the above described joint action.
