Resolution 7433 RESOLUTION NO. 7+33 WHEREAS, pursuant to a recent order of the Safety or Traffic Director of the City of Miami, Florida, the several Jitney Sedan Services operating between the cities of Miami Beach and Miami have been required to give up their former Miami route and down- town Miami terminus , and run instead south along Biscayne Boulevard to a new terminus in the southeast Second Avenue and Southeast Third Avenue area; and WHEREAS, these operators have been limited to only two stops on Biscayne Boulevard; and IEREAS, these several Jitney Sedan Services have been used and depended upon for many years by residents of both Miami and Miami Beach, and because of this re-routing these thousands of passengers have been seriously inconvenienced and often forced to use other means of transportation to reach their destinations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby request the properly constituted officials of the City of Miami to make a strenuous effort to restore to these Jitney Sedan Services a terminal located closer to the downtown Miami shopping area and/or in the event it proves inexpedient to take them off the Biscayne Boulevard route, that they be afforded the same courtesy extended to the buses of the Miami Beach Railway Company, which we understand are allowed to make stops at every other street intersection.
