Resolution 7434 RESOLUTION NO. 7434 WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Railway Company is a public utility company which owns and operates buses for public trans- portqtion in the City of Miami Beach, in the City of Miami, and between said cities, and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Charter of the City of Miami Beach, the City Council is invested with full power and authority to establish, impose and enforce rates and charges for public utility services or conveniences operated, rendered or furnished by any person, persons, firm or corporation, and WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Railway Company has requested of the City Council a public hearing to determine whether said Railway Company is entitled to increase its present rates and charges for transportation of passengers within the City of Miami Beach and from points within the City of Miami Beach to points within the City of Miami, from the present fare of ten (100) cents to a fare of fifteen (150) cents cash fare or two (2) tokens for twenty-five (250) cents, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be to the best interest of the City and of the Miami Beach railway Company that such public hearing be held before it as the regulatory authority of the City of Miami Beach, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that a public hearing is hereby called to be held at 10:00 A . M. , on February 14, 1951, at the regular meet- ing place of the City Council in the City Hall, Miami Beach, Florida, for the purpose of hearing all persons and receiving any evidence submitted on the question of whether the Miami Beach Railway Company is entitled to increase its fares as above set forth. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED 'that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to send a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the President of the Miami Beach Railway Company and to all other persons or organizations who may request a copy thereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to publish, in the Florida Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in the ity of Miami Beach, Florida, a notice of this hearing, not less than five (5) days prior to February 14th, 1951.
