Resolution 7484 RESOLUTION NO. 71+811-
WHEREAS, the MIAMI BEACH EXHIBITION COMPANY, a Florida
Corporation, is the holder of a franchise from the Florida
International Baseball League for the playing of professional
baseball in the City of Miami Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, playing of baseball in the City of Miami Beach
is deemed to be a public benefit affording amusement to the
citizens and publicity to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City owns andmaintains a baseball playing
field andstands surrounding same, said playing field being
illuminated for night baseball playing; and
WHEREAS, the Miami beach Exhibition Company has requested
the right and privilege to use the baseball playing field and
stands surrounding same during the playing seasons for the years
1951, 1952 and 1953; and
WHEREAS, there has been prepared an agreement between the
City of Miami Beach and the Miami Beach Exhibition Company, the
terms and conditions of which are familiar to the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be to the best
interest of the City that said agreement be entered into;
SNOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the lAayor and the City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
agreement in the name of and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
