Resolution 7544 Ri?JSOLUTION NO. 7544
WHEREAS, under the most capable and expert
guidance of Ernie Seiler and the Orange Bowl
Committee, the Orange Bowl festivities have brought
national acclaim to the entire Greater Miami area,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach originally
contributed $12,000 to assist in the defraying of
expenses incurred in the production of this gala
event, of which amount the Orange Bowl Committee
allocated $2, 500 for the Fourth Annual Orange Bowl
Junior Boys and Girls Tennis Championships that
were held in Miami Beach in conjunction with the
Orange Bowl celebration, and
WHEREAS, as a further example of the excellence
of the Committee's management of this event, they have
recently rebated to our City the sum of $8,186.41,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
Miami Beach, that our special thanks and appreciation
be conveyed to the Orange Bowl Committee for their
most efficient and capable direction of the Orange
Bowl program, thereby rendering a distinguished service
to the entire Greater Miami area, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this
Resolution be sent to the Orange Bowl Committee as
tangible evidence of our appreciation.
