Resolution 7740 RESOLUTION NO. 7740
!REAS, P. W. MILLER, has offered to sell to the City of Miami Beach,
for the sum of .'137, 500.00 that certain parcel of land situate in Miami
Beach, Florida, described as follows, to-wit:
Lot Ten (10) of Block Fifty-seven (57) of FISHER'S FIRST
SUBDIVISION of Alton Beach, as the same is shown, marked
and designated on a plat of said subdivision recorded in
Plat Book 2, page 77, in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court in and for Dade County, Florida.
Also the closed east end of Sixteenth Street more parti-
cularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot Ten (10) , Block
Fifty-seven (57) , FISHER'S FIRST SUBDIVISION of Aton
Beach as above described; run in an easterly direction
along the north line of Lot Ten (10) a distance of Twenty-
five (25) feet to the point of the tract herein described;
from the point of beginning continue along the north line
of Lot Ten (10) in an easterly direction a distance of
Two Hundred Six and Twenty-eight Hundredths (206.28) feet
to a point, said point being the intersection of the north
line of LoTen (10) with the west line of Collins Avenue;
thence run in a northeasterly direction along the west
line of Collins Avenue a distance of Seventy and Ninety-
eight Hundredths (70.98) feet to a point, said point
being the intersection of the west line of Collins Avenue
with the south line of Lot One (1) , Block Fifty-four (54) ;
thence run in a westerly direction along the south line of
Lot One n (1) , Block Fifty-four (54) a distance of Two
Hundred Eighteen and Eight Hundredths (218.08) feet to a
point; thence run in a southerly direction and at right
angles to the south line of Lot One (1) , Block Fifty-
four ( 54) , a distance of Seventy (70) feet to the point of
beginning.
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
deems it to be to the best interest of said City to acquire said lands
at said price for the purpose of off the street parking of automobiles,
and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared by the City Attorney by
the terms of which the said P. W. MILLER agrees to sell and the City
agrees to purchase said land, the City Council being familiar with the
terms of said agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are
hereby authorized to execute the said agreement in the name of and on
behalf of said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to close the transaction contemplated by said agreement accord-
ing to the terms thereof, as and when the title shall have been approved
by the City attorney; and the disbursing officers of the City be and they
are hereby authorized to pay out of the funds of the City available for
such purpose, the amount necessary to comply with the terms of said agree-
ment.
