Resolution 7801 RESOLUTION NO. 7801
WHEREAS, Dr. R. Wiley Scott, pastor of the Miami Beach
Community Church and president of the Greater Miami Council of
Churches, and Mrs . Scott were selected to represent 1,200,000
members in 6,000 Congregational Christian Churches of America on
a pilgrimage this summer to the areas in the Aegean Sea first
visited by St. Paul, the Apostle , 1900 years ago; and
WHEREAS, this nationwide recognition of Dr. Scott has
brought signal honor not only to his church and the other Con-
gregational Churches of Florida, but also to the entire City of
Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, DR. and MRS. SCOTT have made a great contribution
to the religious and cultural activities of Miami Beach during
the past 11 years they have served the Miami Beach Community
Church; and
WHEREAS, their religious leadership has been an inspiration
not only in Miami Beach but also throughout the Greater Miami
Council of Churches .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach that Dr. and Mrs . Scott be congratulated for
their accomplishments in their field of endeavor and that the
thanks and appreciation of the City be conveyed to them for their
outstanding work in the community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon
the records in the customary manner and that a copy be framed
and presented to Dr. and Mrs . Scott as a token of the esteem of
the citizens and the City Government of Miami Beach.
