RESOLUTION NO. 7862
WHEREAS, a large and representative group of citizens
of the City of Miami Beach, together with others of South
Florida, have arranged for and are sponsoring a post-season
football games between Brandeis University of Waltham,
Massachusetts, and Tampa University of Tampa, Florida, and
WHEREAS said football game will be held at Memorial
Field in Miami Beach on Sunday, December 9, 1951, at 2:00
P. M. , and
WHEREAS, it will be the first time a college football
game has ever been played in Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS said game and the attendant events and publicity
thereto will benefit the City of Miami Beach and the citizens
thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, does hereby express its
appreciation and commendation to the Annual Brandeis Classic
Committee, and to all of those helping in the promotion and
putting on of this fine event and does hereby urge the
citizenry and visitors of Miami Beach to attend the Annual
Brandeis Football Classic.
