Florida Utilities
WHEREAS, the FRailroad & Public Commission
will, in the near future, hold a hearing upon the question of
whether or not Coast Cities Coaches, Inc. , shall be allowed to
pick up and discharge passengers within the City limits of the
City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach deems
it to be to the best interest of said City to do all within its
Power to prevent the practice by said Coast Cities Coaches, Inc . ,
of picking up and discharging persons within the City limits of
said City, thus entering into a field of transportation which is
already being amply and satisfactorily provided for,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City Council hereby expresses
its opposition to granting of permission by said Florida Railroad
& Public Utilities Commission to Coast Cities Coaches, Inc. , for the
picking up and discharging of persons within the City limits of said
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Attorney be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to attend the hearing to be held by
said Florida Railroad & Public Utilities Commission upon the said
question and to there voice the objections of the City Council to
the proposed operation or continuation thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is
hereby instructed to mail a certified copy of this resolution to the
Florida Railroad & Public Utilities Commission at Tallahassee,
Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of June, A. D. 1952.
