Resolution 8066 RESOLUTION NO. c.'4,0((-- A Qc(A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD JULY 15TH, 1952, AND DECLARING THE RESULT TO BE AGAINST THE LEVY OF ONE ADDITIONAL MILL FOR THE YEAR 1952 FOR PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING PURPOSES. WHEREAS, this City Council has made a canvass of the returns of the certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks who held and conducted the Special Election held on July 15, 1952, such canvass having been made solely, exclusively and entirely from such returns, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby find and declare that the total number of votes cast in said election in favor of the levy and the total number of votes cast in said election against the levy were as follows : Upon the question: "SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, HAVE THE AUTHORITY, FOR THE YEAR 1952, TO LEVY, FOR PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING PURPOSES, A MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) MILLS ON THE DOLLAR OF THE TAXABLE CASH VALUE OF ALL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL?" 1698 votes were cast, of which 509 votes were "For Levy" and 1184 votes were "Against Levy" . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby declare that the levy has not been duly and legally approved by the voters, as provided by law. PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of July, A.
