Resolution 8259 RESOLUTION NO. 8259 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, did on February 4th, 1953 pass Resolution No. 8247 which made known its intentions to have introduced at the 1953 State Legislature a Bill relative to the civil service status of certain employees of the City of Miami Beach, and WHEREAS, the passage of this Bill will affect the Civil Service System to the extent that it may necessitate the introduction of other Bills or Amendments to the present Civil Service Act, and WHEREAS, it is very possible that a study will reveal that there are other matters relative to our Civil Service System which also should be taken to the 1953 Legislature of the State of Florida, and WHEREAS, it would be to the best interest of the City of Miami Beach, that a study of the entire matter be made prior to the meeting of the Legislature, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City Manager be directed to make a complete investigation and study of our Civil Service System, to determine what matters relative thereto should be taken to the 1953 Legislature of the State of Florida and that he make his recommendations to the City Council at an early date.
