WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, is considering amending Ordinance No . 289, commonly
known as the "Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida" , so that Section 21 thereof shall read as follows :
"SECTION 21 . CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS .
Upon its own initiative, or upon the petition
of the owners of a majority of frontage in any area,
the City Council may, after having held a public
hearing following at least fifteen (15) days notice
of a time, place and object of such hearing published
in an official paper, or a paper of general circulation
in said City of Miami Beach, amend, supplement, change,
modify or repeal the regulations and boundaries herein
established, provided, however, that no amendment shall
become effective except by the favorable vote of five-
sevenths (5/7) of all the members of the City Council .
And, provided further, that if the hearing is to be
on the question o2 a change in the boundaries herein
established then such fifteen (15) days notice shall
be given by mail to the owners of record of land lying
within 375 feet of the land the boundaries of which
are proposed to be changed.
The provisions relative to public hearings and
official notices shall apply equally to all changes
or amendments . "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that a public hearing be and the
same is hereby called to be held on the lith day of November,
1953, at 10:00 o ' clock A.M. , in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall of Miami Beach, Florida, for the consideration of
said amendment .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is
hereby directed to give at least fifteen days ' notice of the
time, place and object of said hearing, by publishing notice
thereof in the Florida Sun, a newspaper of general circulation
in said City of Miami Beach, Florida, in conformity with Section
21 of Ordinance No . 289 of said City .
