Resolution 8589 RESOLUTION NO. 8589
WHEREAS, agreements have been heretofore prepared by
the terms of which various Hotel Operators of the City of
Miami Beach, in consideration of benefits which will accrue
to such operators, have agreed to pay over to the City an
amount equal to five percent (5%) of the gross room revenue
accruing to the operators from conventions booked and held
in said City during the period extending from September 1,
1953 to August 31, 1955, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the terms
of said agreements and deems it to be to the best interest
of the City that said agreements be entered into
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to
execute in the name of and on behalf of said City the said
agreements which are as follows :
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami Beach and MAX BOHRER for the Colony Hotel, and
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami Beach and MAX GORMAN for the Drake Hotel, and
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami Beach and M. NEWMARK for The Tides Hotel, and
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami` Beach and CHARLES N. ROUSSEAU for the Hotel
Martinique, and
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami Beach and various hotel operators, among whom is
MAX ELKIN for the Royal York Hotel, and
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami Beach and various hotel operators, among whom is
BEN . T. OLSEN, JR. , for the Olsen Hotel, and
AGREEMENT dated November 18, 1953 between City of
Miami Beach and various hotel operators, among whom is
ALBERT KALIK for the Traymore Hotel .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of November, A.D.
1953 .
