Resolution 8848 RESOLUTION NO. 8848
WHEREAS, it has been proposed that a causeway be constructed
extending from Miami Beach to Key Largo, and
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners have requested the State
Road Department to advance $50,000 to defray the cost of a survey
to determine the economic, financial and engineering feasibility
of such a project and its most suitable location, and
WHEREAS, such a survey is necessary in order to determine
the feasibility of such a project and to determine its probable
effect on the economy of Dade County and its integral units,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach endorse the actions of the County Commissioners
in requesting the advancing of funds for such survey, provided
such survey in large measure be directed to the economic effect
on the Greater Miami Area of such a causeway with specific
reference therein to the Miami Beach Community, and that the
State Road Board be urged to grant said request.
