Resolution 9148 RESOLUTION NO . 9148
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is the owner
and holder of certain bonds and securities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is the custodian
of further bonds and securities representing invested funds
of "The City Pension Fund for Firemen and Policemen in the
City of Miami Beach", and
WHEREAS, the Chief Finance Officer of the City
of Miami Beach is the custodian of further bonds and securities
representing invested funds of the "Miami Beach Firemen' s
Relief and Pension Fund", and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the "City of Miami
Beach Employees Retirement System" is the custodian of further
bonds and securities representing invested funds of said
"Retirement System", and
WHEREAS, all of said bonds and securities are presently
deposited in a Safety Deposit Vault of the Miami Beach First
National Bank, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it desirable to insure the better safe-keeping and cus-
tody of said bonds and securities by placing the same in the
direct custody of the Miami Beach First National Bank for safe-
keeping and for the collection of principal and interest thereon,
as the same come due, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has prepared separate
agreements for the City of Miami Beach; for the City of Miami
Beach and the Chief Finance Officer jointly; and the City of
Miami Beach and the Board of Trustees of the "City of Miami Beach
Employees Retirement System" jointly, to be entered into with
the Miami Beach First National Bank, and setting forth the terms
and provisions for the custody and safe-keeping of said bonds
and securities, and the City Council being familiar with the
terms and provisions of said agreements, and deeming it to be
to the best interests of the City of Miami Beach that the said
agreements be entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said agreements in the name and behalf of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and the
City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to
carry out the terms of said agreements for and in behalf of said
City and the disbursing officers of the City be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to pay out such sums of money as the City
is obligated to pay out under the terms of said agreements, from
the funds of said City available for such purpose .
