Resolution 9414 RESOLUTION NO. 9414
WHEREAS the issuance of $3,500,000.00 of municipal
improvement bonds bearing interest at a rate not to exceed
32i% per annum by the City of Miami Beach, for the purpose of
construction of an auditorium, has heretofore been approved
by the qualified electors of said City who were freeholders
and who participated in an election held for that purpose,
and
WHEREAS said bonds and the proceedings in connection
therewith were thereafter validated by the Circuit Court of
Dade County, Florida, and
WHEREAS said bonds were offered for sale and sealed
bids were called for to be received on January 23, 1957 , and
WHEREAS no bids were received for said bonds pursuant
to said call for bids, and
WHEREAS Kidder, Peabody & Co . and Associates have
offered $3,402,365 .00 and accrued interest to date of delivery
for said bonds, provided they bear interest at 3u% per annum
and provided that the bonds be delivered to them on or before
March 21, 1957 unless extended by their consent, and that at
the time of delivery the bonds be accompanied by the unqualified
legal opinion of Messrs . Caldwell, Marshall & Trimble of
New York City,with the usual closing papers, the cost of which
will be borne by the City, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it to be to the best interest of said City to
accept said offer,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the offer made by
Kidder, Peabody & Associates, as hereinbefore set forth, be
and the same is hereby accepted.
